Dolly v1.3: subject-specific agents for more precise content, and 20+ new curricula in the library.

AI marking and feedback for UK schools

Teachers choose topics from their specification. Dolly writes the assignment and its mark scheme, marks every answer and shows where each class needs help, and nothing reaches students until a teacher publishes it.

How a teacher sets and marks work

A teacher picks a class, chooses an extended-response question or a quiz, and selects topics from the class’s curriculum. Subject-specific AI agents research each topic and write questions to the specification. Extended-response questions come with a levels-of-response or points-based mark scheme at 4, 6 or 8 marks, Foundation or Higher tier, with an optional command word. The teacher can edit any question or mark scheme before setting it.

Students sign in to their own Dolly account and answer there. Dolly marks every submission against the assignment’s mark scheme. The teacher reviews the marks, changes any they disagree with and publishes feedback to the whole class at once.

Connecting your MIS through Wonde

A school admin connects Dolly to the school’s MIS through Wonde from Dolly’s settings, and the school approves the request in Wonde. Each teacher then links their profile, and their classes, students and enrolments sync every night. Students can also be added from a CSV file or invited by email.

Personalised follow-up for each student

After marking, Dolly picks out the topics each student found hardest and builds personalised flashcards from them, for one student or the whole class at once. Students revise from them in their own app.

Reports for a whole class

Choose the assignments to draw on, and Dolly writes a report for every student in the class: strengths, areas to work on, engagement and next steps. Teachers can add their own comments and edit each report before publishing it to the student.

Data protection and DfE guidance

Dolly stores your data on AWS in London and complies with UK GDPR. Writing and marking run on Anthropic’s Claude through Amazon Bedrock in the EU, and Bedrock does not use your content to train models or share it with model providers.

The Department for Education’s guidance on generative AI in education (updated 12 August 2025) asks schools to check AI output before relying on it, to keep personal data out of generative AI tools where they can, not to let pupils’ original work train AI models without permission, and to follow each tool’s age limits.

Dolly is built to work that way: teachers check and publish every mark, and pupils’ work is never used to train models.

Pricing for schools

Any teacher can start on the Free plan: one class of up to 30 students and five assignments a month. Plus is £9.99 per teacher, per month, with unlimited classes and assignments. For a department, a school or a trust, book a demo to talk about volume pricing.

Frequently asked questions

Can Dolly mark exams or coursework?
Dolly is for classwork, homework and practice questions written to your specification, with a teacher reviewing every mark. It is not for marking exams or non-exam assessment that counts towards a qualification.
Does Dolly work with our MIS?
Yes, through Wonde. A school admin requests access from Dolly’s settings, the school approves it in Wonde, and each teacher’s classes sync nightly.
Do teachers stay in control of marks?
Yes. Teachers can change any mark or comment, and students only see grades and feedback once a teacher publishes them.
Which subjects does Dolly cover?
Subject-specific agents write extended-response questions for maths, English language, English literature, biology, chemistry, physics, combined science, computer science, the humanities and modern foreign languages, with a general agent for other subjects. Quizzes work in any subject.
Does Dolly follow UK exam board specifications?
Yes. Choose a specification from Dolly’s library, which is organised by subject, exam board and level, or upload any specification or scheme of work as a PDF. Questions and mark schemes are written to it.
