1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Dolly platform (godolly.ai), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the platform.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Intelligent Software Ltd (trading as Dolly), company number 15208078, registered at 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, England and Wales.
2. Service Description
Dolly is an AI-powered teaching assistant designed for school teachers, private tutors, and homeschooling parents. The platform enables users to:
- Create and manage classes and student groups
- Generate curriculum-aligned assignments and teaching materials
- Receive AI-powered grading and feedback on student work
- Track student progress and generate performance reports
- Upload curricula and align content to UK exam boards
3. Account Registration and Responsibilities
To use certain features of Dolly, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Keep your login credentials confidential and secure
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create a teacher, tutor, or parent account. Student accounts are created and managed by the responsible teacher, tutor, or parent.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Dolly platform to:
- Upload, submit, or generate content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
- Attempt to circumvent platform security measures or access restricted areas
- Use the platform for any purpose other than legitimate educational activities
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the platform without written permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform or its infrastructure
- Submit student data for purposes unrelated to education
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these acceptable use terms without prior notice.
5. Intellectual Property
Platform Intellectual Property
The Dolly platform, including its design, code, features, branding, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Intelligent Software Ltd. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our written consent.
Your Content
You retain ownership of any original content you upload to the platform, including curricula, teaching materials, and assignment content. By uploading content, you grant Intelligent Software Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, process, and store that content solely for the purpose of providing the service.
AI-Generated Content
Content generated by the Dolly AI (including assignments, feedback, and teaching materials) is provided for your educational use. You are free to use, modify, and distribute AI-generated content in your teaching practice. However, AI-generated content is provided "as is" and you are responsible for reviewing it before use.
6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Dolly uses artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate educational content, provide grading assistance, and deliver feedback. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies or errors and should always be reviewed by a qualified educator before use
- AI-generated feedback and grades are intended as a starting point and should be verified by the responsible teacher or tutor
- AI-generated content does not constitute professional, legal, medical, or specialist advice
- The teacher, tutor, or parent retains full responsibility for the educational content delivered to students
- AI outputs may vary and are not guaranteed to be consistent across identical inputs
7. Student Data Responsibilities
When you create student accounts and submit student work through Dolly, you act as the data controller for that student data. You are responsible for:
- Ensuring you have appropriate authority (as a teacher, tutor, or parent) to process student data
- Obtaining any necessary consent from parents or guardians for student data processing
- Complying with your institution's data protection policies
- Not uploading sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary for educational purposes
Intelligent Software Ltd acts as a data processor for student data, processing it solely on your instructions and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
8. Payment and Subscriptions
Dolly offers both free and paid subscription plans. For paid plans:
- Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
- All prices are stated in British Pounds (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
- We do not provide pro-rata refunds for partial billing periods
- We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days' notice
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Dolly platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
- Intelligent Software Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform
- Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
- We do not guarantee that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by English law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Intelligent Software Ltd, its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
11. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@godolly.ai or through your account settings.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we are required to do so by law. We will provide reasonable notice where possible.
Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. We will retain your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify registered users by email. Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Dispute Resolution
Before initiating formal legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days, either party may commence proceedings in the courts of England and Wales.
